Fun Bridal Portraits with Megan

A great location … The Utah State Hospital?
I’ve taken people up to the Utah State Hospital castle dozens of times to have portraits done, but yesterday when I took Megan there for her bridals, I found new spots that I had never even seen before! It really is an incredible location with so many options to choose from.
Beautiful Stonework
The USH castle offers beautiful stonework and romantic-looking architecture, complete with turrets. It also has great views of the valley from the top. It’s a unique and lovely backdrop for any kind of portrait.
Megan was so much fun to work with! She had so much personality, and I had a blast capturing all of the fun moments.
Here Megan stands in front of a turret, perfect for the "love story" theme she wanted for her portraits.
Megan lounges on a curving path. I loved her unique and dramatic bouquet, designed by Audrey O’Brien of Studio Stems.
I love this picture! Once again, it is true to her "love story" theme, and I love how the sun lights up her veil perfectly.
Golden Grasses
The castle also offers some beautiful spots with golen, waving grasses. I love the natural, comfortable feel it lends to portraits.
I love this hillside spot. The grass adds a feeling of warmth to the picture, which I love!

I love the stone and grass together in this picture. Megan is such a brautiful bride! I love the dramatic feeling of this picture, and I love how the background softens it just a bit.
Water
There are a couple of different waterfront spots to choose from at the castle. From big pond, to dock, to small brook with a bridge, I love the variety!
I love the way Megan is laughing in this picture. It’s so easy and natural, and the dock really makes it an even more interesting picture.
I love this picture of Megan dangling her feet in the water. Doesn’t she just look like she’s having fun?
This one of Megan looking away is more dramatic, and I love the contrast the dock and water give to the picture.
The fountain in the middle of the pond here at the castle also makes a fun backdrop. I love the texture it adds.
The pond is also a great spot for reflections. I really like this one of Megan touching the water.
Go take a look at this location for yourself sometime! It’s near Seven Peaks Waterpark in Provo, and at only $15 for a sitting fee, it’s an awesome location!

I just adore these. The stone in the first few are amazing, her smile is infectious and that dress is stunning.
Beautiful pictures.
She’s gorgeous, but where’s the groom? :P
Kitty,
Thanks for the comments!
There’s no groom because this was a bridal portraits session. You can see some of the couple’s wedding pictures here.
